Art 330 Graphic Design
While the course uses elements to create forms for public viewing and also emphasizes the use of the student’s experience gained in other studio areas, its primary concern is to strengthen the student’s aesthetic awareness in graphic design.
Coursework includes but is not limited to: Understanding design as it relates to advertising and promotions, strong focus on projects that feature page layout and typography techniques, developing technical aspects of file preparation, and self-directed tutorials.

This course focuses on the process of lateral thinking and the visualization of design problems and their solutions. Emphasizes effective research, imagination, originality, and execution in various media.

Art 436 Electronic Illustration
This course provides advanced instruction in popular computer illustration programs such as Adobe Illustrator for students preparing for careers in graphic design.
Coursework includes but is not limited to: Illustrated portraits, pattern and surface design, digital illustrations optimized for screen/desktop, learning additional Adobe Illustrator skills and techniques via self-directed tutorials, and manipulation of illustrated works in Photoshop.

Art 438, Advanced Media Design
Advanced level studio course that combines previously acquired art and design skills with new strategies to produce print and digital design for on-screen media and user interactions. Places strong focus on self-directed projects and experiential learning.
