AR Experimentation & Application of AR in Upcoming Works
This section is meant to serve as a showcase for experimentation and proof of concept for beginning to incorporate Augmented Reality into my work and process. I am currently investigating implementing AR in combination with my letterpress prints and new body of work, “Point of Origin”. These videos show demos and the trial and error process of exploring different AR apps as well as techniques of implementing basic animations and/or still image layers as the AR layer. Moving forward, I plan to use AR to bridge the digital and physical space while also revealing new layers/pieces to my letterpress prints and collages. These demos and experiments were recorded in my home, a space with mixed lighting and surfaces—this provided a playground to test the sensitivity of both Aero and Eyejack’s capabilities when sensing trigger images and anchors to physical locations. These demos were generated using Adobe Aero as well as the Eyejack AR creator. In addition to this experimentation, I have also piloted this technology in the classroom. During my 2022 Type & Poster in the UK course, students experimented with AR techniques to add an interactive layer to their type-based posters.
